An Accra Circuit Court has remanded a 54-year-old pastor, Hammond Love, in custody following allegations of vehicle theft and document forgery concerning a Honda Civic valued at GH¢180,000.

The defendant denied the allegations during his court appearance and will remain in custody for two weeks as the case unfolds.

According to the prosecution, led by Police Chief Inspector Ebenezer Teye Okuffo, the complainant, Daniel Baidoo, a businessman operating at SCC Weija, became acquainted with the accused in October 2025.

The court was informed that the pastor posed as a car dealer and proposed a deal in which the complainant would exchange his Honda Civic and pay an additional GH¢30,000 for a Range Rover.

Prosecutors allege that the situation changed on November 7, 2025, when the accused, along with two accomplices, allegedly took the Range Rover from the complainant.

Subsequent investigations revealed that the Honda Civic involved in the transaction had allegedly been sold for GH¢150,000 after the vehicle’s documents were falsified.

In a police statement, the accused reportedly confessed to his involvement in the crime and assured authorities that he would rectify the matter. However, he allegedly failed to fulfil that promise.

He has since been remanded by the court while awaiting the next hearing.
