The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced the commencement of Phase Two of the government’s ongoing Transformer Replacement and Upgrade Programme at the Lashibi Primary Substation.

This follows the successful completion of Phase One at the Nmai Dzorn Primary Substation.

In a statement signed by the Acting Director of Communications of ECG, Dr Charles Nii Ayiku Ayiku, said the second phase is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, and will end on Thursday, April 16, 2026.

The company indicated that the exercise will involve brief planned power outages in affected areas to ensure the safety of personnel and the successful execution of the works.

According to ECG, a detailed outage schedule, including specific time blocks and affected areas, has been attached to the statement and will also be communicated through its official channels.

ECG assured customers that measures have been put in place to minimise the duration and impact of the outages and advised the public to plan accordingly.

The company noted that the upgrade forms part of the government’s efforts to strengthen power infrastructure, reduce system overloads, and improve the reliability of electricity supply.

ECG also expressed appreciation to the public for their patience and cooperation during the exercise.
