Pixel phones that will stop getting updates in 2026

Based on Google’s current support schedule, 2026 is a transition year for the Pixel 6 series. While they have already received their final major Android OS version, they will reach their “End of Life” for security patches later this year.

Pixels Ending Support in 2026
The Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro are the primary devices reaching their final support milestone this year.

Google generally provides two types of updates: major Android version upgrades and monthly security patches. For the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro, the major Android version updates have already finished, but the critical security patches will officially stop in October 2026.

Once October 2026 passes, these phones will no longer receive the monthly fixes that keep the device safe from new viruses or software vulnerabilities.

The Pixel 6a is slightly different. Even though it is part of the same family, it will continue to receive security updates until July 2027.

If you are using a newer model, like the Pixel 7 or Pixel 7 Pro, you still have some time. Those phones are covered until at least October 2027.
