Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has strongly condemned the renewed aggression by Israel against Lebanon, warning that such actions undermine ongoing ceasefire efforts and threaten regional stability.
In a statement, the Iranian leader said, “Renewed aggression by the Zionist regime against Lebanon blatantly violates the initial ceasefire.”
He added that the development raises serious concerns about Israel’s commitment to peace agreements in the region.
Pezeshkian further accused Israel of acting in bad faith, stating, “Such actions signal deception and non-compliance, rendering negotiations meaningless.”
His remarks suggest growing frustration within Tehran over what it perceives as repeated violations of agreements aimed at de-escalating tensions between Israel and Lebanon.
Reaffirming Iran’s longstanding support for Lebanon, the president declared, “Our hands remain on the trigger. Iran will never forsake its Lebanese brothers and sisters.”
The statement underscores Iran’s readiness to respond to developments in the region and its continued alliance with Lebanon amid heightened tensions.
The comments come amid renewed hostilities along the Israel-Lebanon border, raising fears of a broader regional conflict.
Analysts warn that escalating rhetoric from key regional actors, including Iran, could further complicate diplomatic efforts and increase the risk of military confrontation.
There has been no immediate response from Israeli authorities regarding the allegations.
However, the situation remains fluid, with international observers closely monitoring developments and urging restraint from all parties involved.
The latest exchange highlights the fragile nature of the ceasefire and the challenges facing efforts to maintain peace in the Middle-East.
Earlier, SaharaReporters reported that hundreds of people were killed and wounded following a fresh wave of Israeli airstrikes across Lebanon, according to Lebanese health minister, Rakan Nassereddine.
The development comes as the Israel Defence Forces (IDF) announced that it had completed what it described as its largest coordinated assault on Lebanese territory since the start of “Operation Roaring Lion.”
In a statement posted on its official X handle, the IDF said, “In 10 minutes, the IDF completed the largest coordinated strike across Lebanon since the start of Operation Roaring Lion.”
The Israeli military disclosed that the operation targeted more than 100 linked to Hezbollah, including “headquarters, military arrays, & command-and-control centers in Beirut, Beqaa and southern Lebanon.”
Providing further details, the IDF listed key targets to include “intelligence command centers and central headquarters used planning terror attacks,” as well as “infrastructure of firepower and naval arrays, responsible for launching missiles.”
It also said the strikes hit “assets of the Radwan Force, & the Aerial unit—Hezbollah’s elite units.”
The large-scale bombardment marks a significant escalation in hostilities, with multiple reportedly affected, including the Lebanese capital, Beirut, the Beqaa Valley, and southern Lebanon.
While Lebanese authorities confirmed mass casualties, the exact breakdown of fatalities and injuries remains unclear as emergency responders continue rescue and recovery efforts.
Despite the mounting toll, Israel signalled that the offensive is far from over. The IDF stressed its determination to sustain military pressure on Hezbollah, citing security concerns in northern Israel.
“We will continue striking the Hezbollah terror organisation and will utilize every operational opportunity. We will not compromise the security of the residents of northern Israel. We will continue to strike with determination,” said IDF Chief of the General Staff, Lieutenant General Eyal Zamir, who was overseeing the wave of strikes.
