Port City FC have officially sealed promotion to the Ghana Premier League for the 2026/27 season, becoming the first club to secure qualification this season and their first-ever Premier League qualification.

The historic achievement was confirmed following an impressive 3-1 victory over Attram De Visser, a result that leaves Port City FC with an unassailable lead at the top of Division One League Zone 3.

In their win against Attram De Visser, Bernard Quarcoo opened the scoring in the 20th minute, but Enoch Otoo equalised for the visitors with a well-taken finish in the 35th minute to send the game into the break level at 1-1.

After the restart, Quarcoo grabbed his second in the 58th minute to restore Port City’s lead before Korblah Junior Kedzie sealed the win with a third goal in the 79th minute.

With four matches still to be played, the club has built a commanding points gap that no contender can overturn.

Port City FC’s promotion marks the culmination of a dominant season in which they have consistently outperformed their competitors.

Their campaign has been defined by attacking flair, defensive solidity, and remarkable consistency, making them deserved leaders of zone 3 from early on in the season.

The team has won 18 matches, 7 draws and just a defeat as of Match-day-26. They have held a 15-point lead over their closest rivals, Semper Fi FC, with 4 games left. Port City FC now boast of 61 points from 26 matches.

Promotion to the Ghana Premier League represents a significant milestone for the club, which has steadily risen through the ranks in recent years.

Their qualification not only reflects strong performances on the pitch but also highlights effective management and long-term planning behind the scenes.

The team which plays its home matches at the Kukurantumi Ohene Boamah Dasebre II park finished second to Hohoe United in their previous campaign, highlighting their consistency.

The club now has the opportunity to test itself against some of the biggest teams in Ghanaian football next season, bringing new excitement and challenges.

According to the team management, attention will now turn to preparations for life in the top flight. Strengthening the squad, maintaining momentum, and adapting to the increased level of competition will be key priorities as Port City FC looks to establish itself in the Ghana Premier League.
