MobileMoney Fintech LTD steps-up compliance in Ghana

MobileMoney Fintech LTD has stepped up its compliance measures to improve security on its platform and protect customers as Ghana’s digital payment space continues to grow.

In a statement issued on Thursday, April 16, 2026, the company said it regularly reviews its agent network to make sure all operators follow the rules and maintain high standards.

During this process, the company temporarily restricted some agent accounts after it detected breaches of its operational guidelines.

MobileMoney Fintech LTD explained that it applies different actions depending on the seriousness of the offence. It gives warnings for minor issues, suspends agents for moderate violations, and permanently removes accounts in cases of serious misconduct.

The company also said it has started engaging the affected agents. In some situations, it has already lifted restrictions after reviewing the cases, while it continues to investigate others.

This move comes at a time when authorities and stakeholders are paying closer attention to agent networks, which play a key role in delivering mobile money services across the country.

MobileMoney Fintech LTD said the tighter controls aim to protect customer transactions and build stronger trust in the system.

The company added that it will keep working with agents and other stakeholders to ensure everyone follows the rules while supporting a stable and reliable digital financial network.

It further noted that strong governance within its agent network remains important for long-term growth and for expanding access to financial services.
