The Ghana Education Service (GES) has initiated the application process for the recruitment of new teachers, encouraging qualified graduates to submit their applications for positions available throughout the country.

In a vacancy announcement dated April 10, 2026, the Service indicated that it is in search of passionate and dedicated individuals who possess a Bachelor of Education degree or equivalent qualifications to become part of its workforce.

As stated, successful candidates will be expected to employ modern, technology-driven teaching methods, assist learners with diverse educational needs, and aid students in developing robust research skills utilizing digital tools.

Teachers will also be tasked with evaluating student performance through various methods while complying with national professional and ethical standards.

The Service highlighted that applicants must exhibit a commitment to ongoing professional development to remain informed about evolving teaching practices.

To be eligible, candidates must possess a degree in education or a related field along with a postgraduate diploma or certificate in education. They must have completed their National Service, hold a valid teaching license from the National Teaching Council, and demonstrate strong communication and classroom management abilities. Additionally, applicants must be prepared to accept assignments in underserved or disadvantaged districts.

Interested individuals are required to apply via the official recruitment portal, fill out an online application form, and upload necessary documents, including academic certificates, National Service certificate, teaching license, Ghana Card, and a passport-sized photograph.

The application period is open from April 10 to April 17, 2026.

The Ghana Education Service states that this recruitment is part of efforts to enhance the country’s education system by improving teaching quality and broadening access to education nationwide.
